Orcs is the ninth chapter of the Delicious in Dungeon manga.
Summary[]
Having taken more vegetables from the golems than they could eat, the group wonder what to do with them. Senshi explains that his regular trading partners are probably not around, so not wanting to waste the food, they decide to trade at one of the shady establishments nearby in the dungeon. The party is initially allowed in, but on learning they want to trade vegetables and not money, they are quickly kicked out. In that moment, a group of orcs attack, killing the patrons and stealing their possessions. The orc leader, however, recognizes Senshi, and the group realizes the partners he trades with are, in fact, the orcs.
The orc leader explains that the Red Dragon appeared near the orcs' village and, being unable to fight it, they retreated to the upper floors. Laios demands the orc leader tell him the Red Dragon's whereabouts but is refused as it would give away the location of the orcs' village. As the orcs are in this bad situation, the orc leader demands that Senshi give up all their food. Senshi agrees, but asks in return for the orcs to allow their party to stay with them for the night, with no plan other than wanting to use the pillaged leavening agent to make bread, to the party's chagrin.
On reaching the orc's tents, Senshi starts making bread. The orc leader's son approaches them in curiosity, but the orc leader takes this as an opportunity to tell him of the tall-men and elves who had killed and stolen the orcs' land in the past. Marcille argues with him that the orcs' constant plundering of other races' villages resulted in their being driven to the dungeon. The orc leader then criticizes Laios on his unclear purpose for conquering the dungeon, which further ignites his argument with Marcille. In the midst of all this, Senshi continues to peacefully prepare the bread.
When the bread is ready, the orc leader refuses to share it, but his son wonders why as they all made it. Marcille and Senshi use this to convince the leader to both share the bread and provide more food. Having no choice, he agrees and other orcs gather to cook and eat with the Touden party. While eating, Laios explains to the orc leader that he searches for the Red Dragon to kill it as it ate his sister and promises to leave their village alone. The orc leader then agrees to tell Laios where they had seen the Red Dragon, and the two form an unlikely truce.
