Winged Lion VI is the ninety-first chapter of the Delicious in Dungeon manga.
Summary[]
The Winged Lion, still held in the Laios Chimera grasp, questions his intentions. Marcille and Chilchuck cheer the Laios Chimera on to eat the Winged Lion. Senshi questions if Laios would be stuck in his monster form if the Winged Lion is eaten. Marcille and Chilchuck realize this and demand that the Winged Lion revert Laios back into his human form, as well as revive Falin. As the Winged Lion retorts, the Laios Chimera eats the Winged Lion.
The Laios Chimera begins to throw up the Winged Lion as well as multiple duplicates of him. The Winged Lion increases its number of duplicates and proposes the two have a competition. Izutsumi comments that while the Winged Lion and Laios Chimera are fighting, all of humanity is going to be consumed by demons. Marcille anxiously wonders what to do, to which Senshi answers that they're likely all out of options. Chilchuck exclaims how he'll attempt to grab onto one of the demon, reaching from the sky, as to not be left behind in the world. Two of the Winged Lion's duplicates grab Chilchuck and explains how all of them will remain in this world and live out the rest of their lives.
The Laios Chimera continues to eats the Winged Lion duplicates until they draw their swords and begin to stab the Laios Chimera's multiple heads. Marcille pleads for the Winged Lion to stop, but the Winged Lion explains Laios did not express any desire about how he be treated after he turns into a monster. It further explains that since Laios has turned into a monster, he's unable to recognize the party and might eventually betray them.
Izutsumi comments that for what Laios thought of as the strongest monster, its weak and she questions what could make it the strongest. Marcille reads the last page of Laios' Dungeon Gourmet Guide to find what makes this monster Laios thought of the strongest.
The Winged Lion and its duplicates continue to attack the Laios Chimera and begin eating his flesh. Weaken by the assault, the Laios Chimera loses grip on the spiraling tower and falls to the bottom, lying on the water. The Winged Lion comments how it will prepare a meal out of him before cutting itself off. The demons from the sky stop grabbing people and the duplicates of the Winged Lion stop eating the Laios Chimera. The Winged Lion rests it's hand where it's heart would be and asks the Laios Chimera what he ate and yells for him to spit whatever it is out. The Winged Lion and its duplicates travel into the Laios Chimera's multiple mouths.
The Winged Lion emerges alone into an empty space to find Laios in a hybrid form eating the Winged Lion's desire. The Winged Lion asks why Laios has it to which Laios answers that since the demon's existence is beyond human comprehension, he wondered what it's desire might taste like. The Winged Lion exclaims for Laios to stop and in its anger, halfway transforms back into his original form. The Winged Lion explains that what Laios is eating is it's "appetite" and pounces on him.
Marcille reads aloud Laios' notes from his Dungeon Gourmet Guide and discovers that the monster is able to digest desires. Chilchuck questions whether Laios made the wish to be turned into a monster in order to be able to eat the Winged Lion's appetite.
Laios holds the Winged Lion down and describes the flavor of the Winged Lion's desire to it tasting like the driving force of life itself. He explains how the taste of desires are like a poison to the Winged Lion that kept him imprisoned within the world. Laios grabs the Winged Lion and exclaims that in humanity's world, it's eat or be eaten, that he will eat it in order to ensure his survival. Laios begins to devour the Winged Lion, while it pleads for him to stop.
Laios, now full, the Winged Lion wobbles to it's feet and explains aloud how it's desire to eat is now gone and how it cannot feel a desire for anything anymore. It speaks about how it has lost what made it "itself". Laios comments that the Winged Lion's existence is meant to be is free, not bound by it's appetite, and that the Winged Lion is free to go wherever it pleases. The Winged Lion grabs Laios and curses for his greatest desire to never be granted. The Winged Lion explains that Laios does not have much time left to live and that he should spend the time that he has left regretting what he has done. As the Winged Lion fades to specks, it speaks of how pathetic humanity is and how they serve no purpose other than to starve. Back outside, as the Winged Lion's duplicates disappear into specks, Marcille and the others race down the spiraling tower to check on the Laios Chimera.
