The Island is the ninety-second chapter of the Delicious in Dungeon manga.
Summary[]
Marcille, Chilchuck, Senshi, and Izutsumi call out to Laios from the spiraling tower but get no response. As Marcille wonders what to do next, the tower begins to crack and the entire dungeon begins to fall apart. Deciding to leave the Laios behind, the party goes about escaping to the surface. Suddenly Yaad calls out to them from his doll form, he tells them to return to Thistle's home in order for Yaad to return to his own body and lead them to the dungeon's exit.
Once there, they discover Yaad's head has been hit by rubble rendering him unable to transfer his soul to his body. Yaad then decides to transfer his soul into the body of his grandfather, Delgal. Once transferred, Yaad requests to bring along Thistle, feeling that despite all the cruel things he has done, it wasn't entirely his fault.
Marcille and the others race outside to find the residents of the Golden Country awaiting for them with unicorns for them to ride. Marcille worries what will happen to the residents but Yaad explains that they'll all be able to meet again. The ghosts of the Golden Country guide the group through multiple levels of the dungeon up to the surface. Along the way, they witness many monsters also attempt to escape the dungeon.
The group arrives at the first level of the dungeon to find that the floor is close to being underwater. Marcille and the others begin to climb the stairs to the exit before Yaad calls out to Izutsumi. He thanks her and explains that because the dungeon's powers was keeping him alive, once they all reach the surface, he will turn to dust. Izutsumi begins to protest, stating the two of them were meant to go on a journey to defeat the dark mage. As Senshi tries to pull Izutsumi back, Yaad apologizes and says his goodbye. All at once, the first floor floods, swallowing the group in water drowning them. As Marcille begins to lose consciousness, she thinks of how her dreams, the ancient Golden Country, all the monsters, Falin and Laios have all been swallowed up.
On the surface, water rushes out of the entrance of the dungeon with Marcille and the others along with it. Additionally, Yaad and Thistle washed up with the group and did not turn to dust. Marcille explains that once the Winged Lion left the dungeon, the border between the surface and the dungeon had disappeared, despite that, the dungeon's power hasn't faded away yet. As Yaad wonders what will eventually happen to him and his people, Marcille suggests that they'll slowly turn to dust. As Marcille wonders why the dungeon collapsed, the Island begins to splits in half. Holes begins to open on the ground all over the Island, spitting out different things from the dungeon. A large amount of water shoots out from the hole and spits out Namari and everyone else. When they were all taken from the world by the Winged Lion, during that time it felt as if they were all having a pleasant dream, only to then be spat out. When Namari asks Marcille what happened to Laios, she explains the events that took place when everyone was absent.
After explaining, Marcille begins to feel depressed over all that has happened. How Laios turned into a monster, how her dream of eliminating the differences in life expectancy between the races will never come true, that the Island is now a mess and that Falin will remain frozen stuck inside the dungeon. Marcille begins to cry and gets comforted by Namari. In that moment, when Shuro takes out the matching bell he gave to Laios, it begins to ring. Shuro explains that Laios is conscious and walking about, when he attempts to call Laios through the bell, it stops. Chilchuck suggests that Laios remembered the bell Shuro gave to him and has begun to panic. Shuro, Chilchuck and Kabru state that they won't be satisfied until they find him and punch him.
Everyone splits up into groups and begins to search around the Island in search of Laios. At the shore of the Island, Chilchuck finds the remains of the Laios' Ultimate Strongest Monster form now shrunken and alongside it is the bell that Shuro gave to Laios. Marcille then runs off following pieces of the remains into the forest and finds Falin still encased in ice. She also finds Laios back in his Tall-man form and explains that everyone is looking for him. Laios is distraught and says that no one will forgive him for what he did. From behind him, Chilchuck, Senshi and Izutsumi arrive and greet him, while ensuring he's fully returned to normal. Marcille tells Laios that they're all happy to see that he's safe, that he should be proud of all he's done and to reunite with everyone else. As Laios begins to reply, Namari, Shuro and Kabru begin to run up to him seemingly angry. But once they arrive at Laios, they greet him happily.
