Cleaners (ンクリーナー Kurīnā?), or Dungeon Cleaners (ダンジョンクリーナー Danjon Kurīnā?), are a type of creature in Delicious in Dungeon. While not strictly monsters, they are essential to the maintenance of any dungeon.[1]
Anatomy and Appearance[]
There are multiple species lumped under the category of Cleaners. They look much like different types of plankton that are visible to the naked eye.[2] The ones encountered by Laios' party look like slugs that are barely the size of a fingernail. They move around much like ants, in trails.
Their secretions are able to prevent fires from spreading and further collapse of any damaged structures, as well as repair said damage until the area is restored to its previous state.[1]

Behavior and Weaknesses[]
Cleaners are harmless living creatures that clean up and fix any area of a dungeon that they perceive to be damaged (including structures put up by adventurers),[1] in much the same way as a living thing heals.[3] They will show up if the dungeon is damaged by something, like an explosion. They will consume any refuse scattered due to the damage, both organic and inorganic[1] (although each species differs in their preferred diet and active conditions)[2]. They then use their secretions to fill in any broken areas and restore the area to how it previously looked.[1] They are able to recreate the dungeon up to and including small details like weathering of stones.[4]
Culinary Usage[]
It is unknown if cleaners themselves are edible, however consumption of their secretions is not recommended as they taste horrible.[5] Bricks made by cleaners before they harden can be hollowed out and used as dishes.[6]
Their secretions have been used in the following dish:
