Sea Serpent (シーサーペント Shīsāpento?) is the fourteenth episode of the Delicious in Dungeon TV anime series.
Synopsis[]
Laios and his party decide to retreat from the dungeon. Meanwhile, a little further back in time, Kabru's party, which had been wiped out once again, was lucky enough to be revived by the Tansu party. However, they lost their food supply and were on their way to retreat when they were attacked by mermen in the mist. Kabru feels a sense of déjà vu when he sees the behavior of the attacking fishmen...[1]
Summary[]
Mr and Mrs Tansu resurrect Kabru and his party. Without food they return to the surface but encounter magical fog that causes them to see each other as enemies. Kabru is the first to realize this and is forced to stop their sorceress, Rin, from killing them by surprising her with a kiss. The culprits are revealed to be the labyrinth’s corpse-retrievers running a scam; by convincing Kabru Laios robbed them it increased their likelihood of following Laios and dying so the retrievers could make profit off their resurrections. Kabru kills the retrievers. He becomes unexpectedly depressed as it is similar scams causing less adventurers to bother entering the dungeon, decreasing the likelihood anyone will ever conquer it. Kabru gathers all the details he knows of the thieves and deduces they must be Laios, Marcille and Chilchuck with an unknown dwarf trying to save the absent Falin. He also deduces Laios wants to conquer the dungeon, but doubts Laios could handle owning a dungeon and its resources without harming society on the surface. The group are attacked by a sea serpent but are saved by Shuro and his new party of women from his homeland in the East. Kabru volunteers his help to Shuro in finding Falin, whom Shuro is deeply in love with. Meanwhile, despite two days having passed since killing the dragon, Laios and his friends remain trapped in the underground city where all the exits have mysteriously vanished, and are in danger of starving to death.
