Fionil (フィオニル Fioniru?) is a novice adventurer currently exploring the dungeon on the Island.
Appearance[]
Fionil is a young half-elf woman with light blue almond-shaped eyes and messy blonde hair. She wears a white robe that goes transparent at the knees, a yellow belt, bright blue cloak and gloves, and light brown boots.[1]
Personality[]
Fionil is a novice adventurer, and is often shown looking very nervous and worried.[2] She is shown to care about her partner Doni quite a bit, as seen when he was poisoned by a basilisk.[3]
Relationships[]
Doni[]
Fionil seemingly gets along well with Doni. She was extremely moved by his story of why he wanted to be an adventurer, to the point that she too became an adventurer.[1] She was tearing up due to worry when Doni was suffering from basilisk poison.[2]
Laios Touden[]
Fionil knows about and is indebted to Laios and his team due to the fact that they helped her partner Doni recover from basilisk poison.[4]
Kabru and his party[]
Not much is known about Fionil's relationship with Kabru's party, but they appear to be familiar with her and Doni and their adventuring skill level.[5]
History[]
Fionil was originally under the employ of the western elves, and tasked with studying and reporting on any changes that occurred on the island due to the dungeon. However, she was so moved by Doni's story that she decided to leave her job and join him as an adventurer.[1]
After the Canaries showed up on the Island, Fionil went into hiding, in case they recognized her and charged her for acting without permission. She also didn't want Doni to find out her true identity.[1]
Plot[]
Second Floor Arc[]
Three months into their adventure,[6] Fionil and her party are first seen by Laios' group eating breakfast on the second level.[7]
Later on, the Touden party come across her and Doni being chased by a basilisk. Doni is attacked by the basilisk and poisoned, so Fionil with assistance from Laios' team spends the night caring for him and giving them the antidote to the poison.[8] On Doni's request, Laios' party also give Fionil and him some useful advice on becoming stronger,[9] but they are not strong enough and are soundly defeated three days later by some Man-eating Plants.[10]
New Dungeon Lord Arc[]
Fionil is later seen on the first level reacting with some doubt when it is revealed that someone from Laios' team had become the new dungeon lord.[11]
After the Events of the Story[]
She decided to stay in Merini with Doni, and works as a teacher.[1]
Trivia[]
- Her favorite food is seafood soup.[1]
