Flamela (フラメラ Furamera?)[2] is the vice-captain of the Canaries sent to follow up on Captain Mithrun's squad.[3] She is taking charge during the worsening situation on the Island and commanding other Canaries.[4]
Appearance[]
Flamela is an elf with short silver hair, red eyes and dark skin.[5][6][7] Her obsidian-like skin and silver hair are traits that are considered "proof of true royalty."[3] She is of noble birth, as indicated by her undamaged ears.[8] She typically wears a pale long sleeved tunic, a green waist-length cloak and a pleated skirt, and a collar like most of the other Canaries.[9]

Personality[]
She is impatient, hates backstabbers, and those who gossip without knowing the whole truth.[10] She's prone to bursts of anger, whether that be directed at her fellow Canaries[11] or uncooperative adventurers in a dungeon. Her anger towards the queen, her parents, her peers, and the dungeon are what keep her going. She throws all her anger into her work.[10] Like some other elves, she is extremely dismissive of short-lived races.[12]
Abilities[]
Flamela's magic appears to allow her to form[12] and control multiple swords,[13] sending them flying at high speed[14] into her enemies with the flick of her hand.[13]
Flamela also possesses a fairy which she uses as a communication device.[2]
Plot[]
Before the Events of the Story[]
Flamela was separated from her sister[3] at a young age, due to her sister being adopted as an heir by the Queen of the Elves. She passed away from unknown causes before reaching adulthood.[3] After the death of her twin sister, Flamela left home to avoid the chaos of succession and joined the Canaries.[10] Despite her efforts, her being a relative to the Queen of the Elves as well as her skin color prevented her from taking dangerous missions.[10] She was promoted to vice-captain of the Canaries after Mithrun retired from injuries from the Demon.[3]
Lunatic Magician's House Arc[]
Flamela and a contingent of Canaries enter the dungeon on the Island in search of their companions (Captain Mithrun and his squad). Mr. Tansu tries to bar their entry by order of the Governor, but Flamela ignores him, so he attacks her. In the midst of the ensuing stand-off, Mr. Tansu manages to kick Flamela into the hole leading deeper into the dungeon, with Rin and Shuro also falling in as collateral damage.[9]
New Dungeon Lord Arc[]
In the dungeon, the trio get lost, unable to make their way back to the surface, with Flamela appearing to blame the other two for something. They are also captured by the orcs as hostages for safe passage out of the dungeon. Two days after they fall in, while still captives of the orcs, Flamela receives news from Pattadol through her fairy informing them all that the adventurer Laios Touden had defeated the Thistle, the Lunatic Magician. However, they do not have time to reflect on this information, as the dungeon's layout shifts to fuse all the floors, in the process reuniting Flamela, Rin and Shuro with their parties. Flamela sees this happen, and attributes it to Mithrun having failed.[15]
Falin Arc[]
Relationships[]
Queen of the Elves[]
Flamela has a one-sided hatred for the Queen of the Elves, due to her sister passing away after being adopted by the Queen.[3] The Queen is also Flamela's great aunt.[16]
Older twin sister[]
Flamela was seemingly close to her sister. She hates her parents for allowing the Queen of Elves to adopt her which lead to her death.[10]
Mithrun[]
Flamela is spiteful about Mithrun being appointed as Captain and thinks he is unqualified, as he cannot even take care of his own daily needs. [3]
Trivia[]
- Her favorite food is dumplings.[3]
- Her least favorite food is fish eggs.[3]
- Her first cause of death in a dungeon was succumbing to the poison of a basilisk.[3]
