Golems (ゴーレム Gōremu?) are a type of monster in Delicious in Dungeon.
Anatomy and Appearance[]
Golems are magically created creatures. They consist of a core, which controls them and enables them to move,[2] surrounded by humanoid bodies made out of mud, earth and stone.[3]
The core of a golem contains the essential information on their size, shape and behavior. Golems only follow the orders written on their cores and are therefore the most loyal of all magical creatures.[4]
While 99% of a golem is earth material, the remaining 1% of a golem's make-up is crushed human bone, but this is a mystery to the average adventurer and appears to be a closely guarded secret.[3]

Behavior and Weaknesses[]
Golems follow orders as written on their cores. They can be used for various tasks.[3] The golems of the dungeon appear to be designed for defensive purposes and will attack those that come near.[5][6]
A golem can be deactivated by removing or disabling their core, as long as the core's location is known.[2] They take care of themselves fairly well in terms of heat and moisture[5] but seem require maintenance every one to two months.[7]
Culinary Usage[]
Although they are not edible, Golems make good fields for growing crops: they maintain the perfect temperature and moisture level for crop growth as drying out weakens them, and even protect the crops from pests and potential vegetable thieves in the process of protecting themselves.[5] In addition, the roots put down by crops do help stabilize the soil making up the golems, so the relationship is symbiotic.[8] Much like regular fields, growing too many of the same crop in a row is bad for the soil, so crops should be rotated to keep the golem field healthy. In addition, fertilizer can be added during the planting process with no known detriment to the golem's function.[9]
Crops grown on Golem fields have been used in the following dishes:
Trivia[]
- Golems were once commonplace, but their use is now forbidden due to a number of tragic accidents caused by the confusion of Gnomish and Elven scripts used to write the instructions on their cores.[4]
- Senshi uses and takes care of the golems of the third level of the dungeon as fields for his crops.[5] At some point in the past, he dropped a golem core down the drain, which ended up on the sixth floor as an Ice Golem.[10]
