Kelpies (水棲馬 Kerupī?, lit. "water-dwelling horse") are a type of monster in Delicious in Dungeon.
Anatomy and Appearance[]
Kelpies resemble horses, but blue-green in color,[1] with a kelp-laden mane,[2] a fish's tail,[3] and very sharp teeth.[4] Their internal organs seem to enable them to float.[5]

Behavior and Weaknesses[]
Kelpies live primarily in aquatic environments, but are able to head above the surface in order to find prey. They act incredibly friendly on land, in order to convince unknowing travelers to ride on their back. Once the travelers take the bait, the kelpie will turn vicious, dragging them into the water to attack and eat them.[2][6]
They are omnivores,[2] but for some reason refuse to eat livers.[6]
Culinary Usage[]
Kelpie meat is edible. They can be butchered much like cows, with cuts such as round, fillet, liver, plate (ribs) and loin and chuck. These cuts can be grilled. The tail is edible but tough so benefits from simmering for long periods. The fin, however, is far too tough to eat. Their mane is also edible, being made from aquatic plants, and has a nice crunch to it.[7]
Kelpie has been used in the following dishes:
Trivia[]
- Kelpie fat is prized for its usage in soaps and hair oils. Marcille makes some Kelpie Oil Soap and uses it to wash Senshi's beard.[8]
- Senshi named the Kelpie from the fourth floor of the dungeon, "Anne", after the horse previously belonging to the Dwarf Miners.[2][9]
