Laios' party consists of the adventuring companions, led by Laios Touden, that journey together in the dungeon.
History[]
Before the Events of the Story[]
When the Island Dungeon's entrance became accessible from the surface, many adventurers flooded into the dungeon to seek gold, fame and to conquer the dungeon. In year 510,[1] the siblings Laios and Falin joined a gold-stripping party protecting gold-peelers from monsters. Laios and Falin left the party after a year in 511, forming their own party with Chilchuck, who was introduced by another halfling, Shuro, who was on the island to train as a warrior, and Namari, the daughter of a disgraced weaponsmith.[1] There were other unnamed members - one member fell ill and left the party, accepting offerings of money from Laios while sick. However, even after recovering this member continued to accept money, his recovery unnoticed by Laios. At some point, the party's mage nearly caused the party to break apart, leading to a general aversion to mages from Chilchuck, Shuro and Namari.
Later, Falin's mentor and friend Marcille came to the island to meet with Falin, with the hopes of bringing her friend back to school with her. After touring the first floor of the dungeon with Falin and Laios, Marcille was amazed by the spell of immortality placed on the dungeon. She joined Laios' party in year 512 to learn more about the dungeon with them.[1]
Hunting the Red Dragon[]
While looking for the deepest point of the dungeon, Laios' party lost several days' worth of food and unfortunately encountered a red dragon on the fifth floor. Weakened by exhaustion and hunger, the party was unable to defeat the dragon, leaving many of the members unconscious. The dragon attempted to eat Laios, but he was saved when Falin pushed him out of the way. The dragon ate Falin instead, who used the last of her strength to teleport the members to the surface of the dungeon.[2][3] Upon awakening, Shuro and Namari resigned from the party.[4] Shuro joined with his retainers to find Falin on his own, while Namari left to work with the Tansu Party and earn more money. The remaining three members, including Laios, Marcille and Chilchuck, ventured down into the dungeon again to find Falin and resurrect her.
Having no funds or food, the party had to resort to eating the monsters in the dungeon to survive. After unsuccessfully cooking a scorpion and walking mushroom, they were approached by Senshi. Senshi, a warrior who had lived in the dungeon for many years, used his expertise in dungeon cooking to advise the party and cook a proper meal for them. Senshi asked to join the party, both because he wanted to make sure the party was well-fed and also to realize his dream of cooking the red dragon. The team accepted him and they journeyed through the top four floors of the dungeon together, cooking many monsters along the way. On the second flood, the party found Kabru's Party, who had been killed by treasure bugs. Laios' party placed wards on the deceased members and ate the treasure bugs, accidentally throwing away the real treasure. This led to Kabru's party hunting Laios', due to a misunderstanding that the latter had stolen their treasure. On the third floor, Laios' party encountered Namari and the Tansu, temporarily working with them to kill an angry undine.
After many obstacles, the team finally found the red dragon in an abandoned orc village on the fourth floor. Working together, the four members killed the red dragon and uncovered Falin's remains from inside. Unfortunately, all that was left of her was her skeleton, making traditional resurrection impossible. Marcille had to resort to forbidden ancient magic, using some of the red dragon's remains to replace Falin's dissolved body. The resurrection was successful and Falin was restored back to life, to the relief of all the other members. After dining on the red dragon, the team could finally rest. But the Lunatic Magician, Thistle, came back for his dragon and took control of Falin instead. As Falin was now part red dragon, she could not disobey Thistle and lashed out at the rest of the party. The team could not recover Falin from the Lunatic Magician, who trapped them underground. Thistle then turned Falin into a chimera to replace his dead dragon. The party was rescued from the deadly trap by ghosts and placed in an Orc village.
While Laios wanted to search for Falin immediately, Chilchuck convinced him to return to the surface. This would ensure the party was well-equipped to find Falin again and prevent additional deaths. Before finding the staircase to the surface, the party encountered Shuro's party, who had been searching for Falin since her death, and and Kabru's party. The three parties were soon attacked by Falin, now a bird- and dragon-like chimera, and several harpies. While the teams were able to drive Falin away, many members were temporarily killed or incapacitated by her attack. This led to an argument between Shuro and Laios over Falin's state. Laios resolved to find the Lunatic Magician and defeat him, which would enable Laios to restore Falin to her human state. The four members of the Laios' party set off to find the Lunatic Magician at the deepest part of the dungeon.
Hunting the Lunatic Magician[]
Soon after parting ways with the other two parties, Laios' party was attacked by Izutsumi, one of Shuro's retainers. Izutsumi threatened Marcille, demanding she remove the curses on her body. Together, the party was able to lift a superficial curse on her body, but not a more complicated one that turned her into a beastman. Laios offered Izutsumi a place in their party to find the Lunatic Magician and lift her curse, and Izutsumi joined the party.

Party Dynamics and Roles of Each Member[]
Before Falin's Death[]
The Laios' party before Falin's death was well-balanced between six members and could take down foes as dangerous as the red dragon. According to Laios, most large-scale battles followed a certain pattern:
- Falin would cast defensive spells, such as fire and injury protection, on the members
- The fighters of the party, Namari, Shuro and Laios, would surround the enemy and distract it
- Marcille would use explosion spells to weaken the enemy
- Shuro would deliver the killing blow
While often not involved in direct fights, Chilchuck was vital for finding shortcuts and disarming traps, preventing injury and saving time while traveling through the dungeon.
After Falin's Death[]
After Falin was eaten by the red dragon, Shuro, Namari and Falin were no longer part of the party. With the addition of Senshi and Izutsumi, the roles of most members shifted.
- Laios: Leader, fighter and monster expert (later a secondary healer and magic-user as well)
- Marcille: Magic user, using offensive magic, healing spells, defensive wards and support spells (such as walking on water)
- Chilchuck: Lockpick, disarming traps, opening chests, finding secret passageways and mapping the dungeon
- Senshi: Fighter, chef
- Izutsumi: Fighter, stealth
