Lycion (リシオン, Rishion^?) is a male elf who is a member of Captain Mithrun's squad of Canaries.

Appearance

Lycion has downward tilting eyes, long grey hair tied in two pigtails and tattoos on his upper torso, outlining his sternum, ribs and collarbone, as well as tattoos around his arms, fingers, and legs. Like many of the other Canaries he has notches cut into both his ears, as a mark of his being convicted of being connected with using black magic. He typically wears a high collar and a cloth around his waist (he wears less than any other canary due to the fact that he would destroy his clothes every time he transforms otherwise).

Personality

Lycion comes across as quite aloof and laid back, being quiet and calm in most situations, as well as smiling and talking casually even while others are panicking. He has extreme body dysmorphia and hates how his original elven body looked, to the point where he was allowing himself to get into fights and be beaten horribly simply because he didn't care what happened to his body.

Conversely, he loves and praises his beast-man form, and joined in illegal fighting tournaments in order to show off his new body. He views his monster body purely as a cosmetic change, and doesn't have any real interest in monsters or their natural habits.

Abilities

Lycion appears to be able to turn into a canine beast, referred to as a werewolf, and is comfortable even in partial transformation.

Relationships

Mithrun

"He's toooough."

Like the other canaries, Lycion respects Mithrun but has a hard time figuring out how much personal space he wants due to his desires being gone, which can make things awkward. Though he does also appreciate Mithrun's strength and seemingly considers him handsome.

Fleki

"Close friend"

Amongst the other canaries in their squad, Lycion is closest with Fleki. They talk often, and Lycion thinks that while the world isn't that great, being with Fleki makes it better.

Kabru

While they aren't very close, Lycion has commended Kabru for taking care of Mithrun so well, and when Kabru tries to help Laios escape from the canaries so they can find Marcille, Lycion actually shows some sympathy and understanding about why they would be distrustful of the canaries since they just force their way into dungeons and don't follow other races' rules. Though Lycion also grows exasperated with Kabru when he continuously lies to Laios in order to convince him to stay with the Canaries, saying that he should just be honest so that they can get things over with quicker, even if that means they have to resort to violence.

History

Before being joining the canaries, Lycion once lived in a community with other artificial beast-men.

• His convictions are body alteration through ancient magic, assault and homicide. For these he was sentenced for life.
• His favourite food is meat.
• His least favourite food is vegetables, especially the stalks.
• His first death in a dungeon was a result of injuries sustained during an illegal arena fight.
• He would have chosen to become a weretiger rather than a werewolf if he was taller.
• The English translation of Delicious in Dungeon World Guide: The Adventurer's Bible, done by Yen Press, mistakenly omits Lycion's list of relatives, which is present in the original Japanese version of both editions.
