Phoenixes (フェニックス Fenikkusu?) are a type of monster in Delicious in Dungeon.
Anatomy and Appearance[]
Phoenixes look much like large, perching birds[1] roughly half the size of a Dwarf.[2] They have a pointed, sharp beak, a crest of feathers that bend towards the back of their heads[1] and fairly long tail feathers.[3] They have paler feathers from their eyes down to their breast, with darker feathers from the breast downwards, as well as on the top of their head to their crest.[1]
Behavior and Weaknesses[]
Phoenixes are not particularly strong and can easily be taken out by a well-aimed arrow [4] or sword,[5] but they are able to wreathe themselves in flames that give off an intense heat which can make them difficult to approach.[3] However, it is far more difficult to get them to remain dead, as on death phoenixes burn their old body and reform a new one from the ashes.[6]
They do not have any known weaknesses.[3]
Culinary Usage[]
Phoenixes can be prepared much like any poultry, but with the added danger of them potentially bursting into flame and resurrecting in the process.[7]
