Trivia[]
- Ankake is a term in Japanese used to refer to food covered in a thickened sauce.[3]
- The name of the dish in Japanese includes the term oyako (親子) which has the literal translation of "parent and child". In Japanese cuisine there is a dish that is named oyakodon (親子丼, lit. "parent-and-child rice bowl"), as both chicken and egg are used in the dish - much like how both the cockatrice and its egg are used in this one.[4]
